ON REGRESSION AND NATE SHOOTING CATS

2012/04/30 § Leave a comment

Let’s introduce Nate. If the first thing you get to know about Nate is that he shoots cats, this may generate an extreme and negative impression of him: shooting cats is relatively diagnostic of being a nasty person. However, if this information is diluted (blablabla) by other information that he is a committed conservationist who writes poetry, collects antiques, drives a hybrid and cares for his infirm mother, the impression is likely to be less extreme there is a big chance we soon will have a new Criminal Minds unsub on our hands.

Paraphrased from my social psychology book. What is this bullshit? (The thing after the strikethrough is my thoughts, the strikethrough is the actual thing in the book. Who thinks shooting cats is okay? No one. Not even Nate.)

And I got this amazing spam comment which I thought was super cute and flattering until the last sentence. Just. What?

Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very hard to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and visual appeal. I must say that you’ve done a superb job with this. In addition, the blog loads super fast for me on Chrome. Superb Blog, with helpful information related width what is acid reflux!

Yes, I did work hard on my design. I like it. I was happy that someone complimented it. Even a spambot. So there.
